SUMMER NEWS-2008

Hey, dear friends, May and June were VERY "fruitful" months as well as "stressful" and July looks EXTREMELY busy!!

At the end of May I left Wichita with an "upper respiratory infection" which hung on for about a week after I got back to Florida. The worst part about it, however, is the fact that I was, obviously, contagious! Lois came down with it and with her, already, asthmatic lungs it
REALLY hit her hard!!

Within a couple of days she was struggling to breathe and I took her to the hospital emergency room. They admitted her, immediately, and treated the pneumonia with steroids and anti-biotics intravenously for a week. She was also on oxygen 24/7 and was released to the home with it. The doctor is "weaning" her from it a few hours at a time each day but she still sleeps with it every night. The decision to cancel all of my dates in June, to stay with her, was an easy one to make. I became her nurse, housekeeper and cook for most of the month. I can hear some of you LAUGHING and saying something like, "
If Bro. Joe's cooking didn't kill her NOTHING will!!" Shame on you!!

You would have been proud of me. It really was funny, however, when we look back on it! We proved that you REALLY CAN "teach an old dog new tricks"! I was ashamed about how "
little" I knew about doing the laundry, cooking meals, cleaning and a dozen other chores around the house which need to be done, regularly!

Most of us are
SO SPOILED, men!!!!! As I've often said, "If we have a good wife we should be on our knees every night giving The Lord thanks for her!!" I have realized that for a long time! Lois is "SO SPECIAL"!!! I'm so thankful for the day she said, "I DO" over 46 years ago !! Unbelievable! I'm getting "OLD"!!!! Don't laugh, so are some of YOU!!

Well, it's the week of July 7th and I'm back at it. I flew in from Florida yesterday and I'm in Wichita serving half (5) of my days this month ( I committed 10 days each month to Choices Clinic) with my Pro-Life work and this weekend I travel to Ravenwood, Missouri to consult with a church.

I speak Friday night and Saturday morning to their elders and staff about "
Church Leadership" and "Church Strategy and Programming." They are very interested in church growth and reaching the lost with The Gospel message.

I fly back to the "Sunshine State" Sunday and then return to Kansas July 21st for a week. Please continue to pray for me for health, safety, and most of all "fruit" for The Kingdom and that it always be "To God's Glory"!! Thanks to those of you who are making this new ministry for me possible.

I love you, Bro. Joe
